Currently available for OS X 10. Sporting a slick, dark, interface, Snowtape is like an iTunes for your iRadio, helping you browse through thousands of stations and even import your own. I recommend trying the program thoroughfully, before investing any money. Snowtape is an internet radio player for the Mac, a one-of-a-kind app that looks good as it blasts your tunes. why do i have a "directory" of radio stations, next to "imported stations", "last imported", and "favorites"? what is the difference between "collection", "last recorded", and "edited"? and why doesn't the application tell me time and date of a recording? Last, but not least, the program features a questionable usability. while browsing my recordings, i permanently get a beach ball when i select the next entry, resulting in a force-quit, often resulting in a total loss of all recorded music. the application also randomly locks up, e.g. when you stop and restart, the problem is gone. streams often start stuttering after a few hours of continuous playing. Secondly, snowtape is very, very buggy and unstable. why not directly write all recorded music to the disk? however, this "fifo"-feature is not available anymore which can end up in a total system crash due to a clogged start-up volume. i remember an option in an earlier version of the program, to limit the total size of that buffer, so that your harddrive won't fill up. while you can specify an own folder, nothing is saved there until you "export" something. Snowtape makes a nice first impression - but it doesn't last long!įirst of all, it has a strange way of buffering music and recordings. Alternatively, a "Get Album Info" button searches and adds any album info and cover artwork available.
