We know that it will continue in the vein of the first season, building on the complex lives of the characters that audiences already know and care about. There isn’t a ton of confirmed information about the plot of the second season. Jules tries to apologize but Rue shuts it down. When Jules gets home, she’s greeted by Rue. After leaving on the train, Jules went to therapy for the first time and talks through some of the feelings she’d been trying to process regarding Rue: feeling guilty for leaving her but also overwhelmed by the responsibility of trying to support Rue in her recovery while also sorting out her own experiences as a transgender teen whose mom was also a recovering addict.
The second episode provides some context for what happened to Jules at the end of the last season. She blames Jules for abandoning her, but ends up surfacing some of the underlying traumas and pressures that have contributed to her addiction. The first one focuses on Rue as she confronts her relapse and the sequence of events leading up to it. Two specials-which aired on Decemand January 24, 2021, respectively-provide some follow-up on the two girls. Luckily, this piece of the plot hasn’t been left to dangle indefinitely. The season ends, then, with Jules on the train heading out of town and Rue snorting oxy alone.

Rue and Jules ( Hunter Shafer) have an opaque relationship throughout the season as they both struggle with their own sets of mental health and community issues. The final installment “And Salt the Earth Behind You” showed a wish unfulfilled. It was a relatively slim volume, with only eight episodes. It seems like ages ago that the first season ended. Why exactly this debate flared up this weekend is not clear. They thought that Euphoria's whole point was to shock audiences with the raw truth of young lives today. Some also accused those critics of a kind of "neo-puritanism," believing it to be generational. Of course, others fired back that this would sap all the shock value and edginess out of Euphoria. Considering the abundance of sex scenes and drug use in the show, they thought this would be less "uncomfortable."
This weekend, some commented they are believable as college-aged and that this might have been more appropriate. Yet, some viewers are still abundantly aware that those performers are not high school-aged. Euphoria stars relatively young actors like Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane and Sydney Sweeney.
